Tobermory is a small community located at the northern tip of the Bruce Peninsula in the municipality of Northern Bruce Peninsula, Ontario. It is approximately 300 kms. from Toronto. Proximity to the Bruce Peninsula National Park and Fathom Five Marine Park is a major reason for Tobermory to be a popular summer vacation destination.
Bruce Peninsula National Park The Bruce Peninsula National park is an absolute must see. It's one of the most beautiful and breath taking places I've been. Limestone cliffs, mixed wood lots, abundant wetlands and tranquil beaches are all important features of this Park. If you enjoy hiking, there are many trails in the National Park with varying degrees of difficulty. You will see the turquoise blue Lake Huron, deep gray rock formations and thousands of white rock.
Fathom Five National Marine Park On the spine of the Niagara Escarpment, plunging below the lake and surfacing again on the shores of Manitoulin Island, Fathom Five National Marine Park is a region of stunning beauty above and beneath the water. Fathom Five is Canada's first National Marine Park, with over 20 shipwrecks and 19 islands within its boundaries. The deep clear water and the numerous shipwrecks attract many divers each year.
How to reach here:
Situated in South-western Ontario, within 4 hour's drive of Toronto, London and Kitchener-Waterloo, and a 5.5 hour's drive from Windsor, Tobermory lies at the tip of Lake Huron and Georgian Bay.
